Ryan A. Unger, MD

Medical Director



Ryan is ABFM Certified, and specializes in family medicine. He is a published author in the scientific literature and an eating disorder specialist. Dr. Ryan saw firsthand the destructive effects habitual behaviors can have on the family. He has helped thousands of patients working in his private practice, University Physicians, Tri-Star Medical, and at University of Tennessee Medical Center. Dr. Ryan is well versed in the medication and treatment techniques that curb behaviors. His holistic approach to treat the entire patient rather than the symptom, and his knowledge of cutting edge medicine has lead the way in defining new effective ways to approach the problem of addiction.


    Susan Goolsby Barner, MSN-BC

    Director of Nursing Services



    Susan received her BSN at East Tennessee State University in 1996, and her MSN at University of Tennessee, Knoxville in 1998. She has seventeen (17) years of experience in psychiatry, including medication management, psychotherapy, and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing). She also serves as a preceptor to nurse practitioner students at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville and Lincoln Memorial University (LMU). She teaches lecture in the psychiatric nurse practitioner program at LMU on a part time basis. She was awarded 2014 Preceptor of the Year by the University of Tennessee College of Nursing. Her areas of expertise are in addiction and co-occurring psychiatric disorders, trauma, ADHD, mood and anxiety disorders in adults.


      Adam Boggs, APN-BC

      Psychiatric/Mental Health Nurse Practitioner



      Adam obtained a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a Master of Science in Nursing from Lincoln Memorial University. He is certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center and licensed as a registered nurse and Advanced Practice Nurse through the State of Tennessee. His experience includes treating addiction with and without co-occurring psychiatric disorders, depression, anxiety, ADHD, and dementia. He believes in a holistic approach to psychiatric care, including self care, psychotherapy, and pharmacological intervention when necessary.


        Ryan Romines

        Family Nurse Practitioner



        Ryan obtained his Bachelor of Science in nursing from the University of Tennessee – Knoxville in 2007. While working as a staff nurse in the critical care units at Baptist Hospital he was one of two nurses to receive the Regional Nurse Excellence Award for providing outstanding nursing care in the intensive care unit in 2008. He graduated UT- Knoxville in December 2010 with a Master of Science in Nursing.
        He holds dual licensure as a registered nurse and also as an Advanced Practice Nurse. He is certified as a family nurse practitioner through the American Nurses Credentialing Center. He has special training in addiction medicine. He has a special interest in pediatrics, men’s health, and psychological disorders.
        Ryan is a native to East Tennessee and was born and raised in Seymour.


          Kelley Seymour, RN

          Registered Nurse



          Kelley received her ASN from Lincoln Memorial University in 1995. She offers over 20 years of experience in various areas of the medical field.  Her personal journey towards a happier, healthier lifestyle sparked her interest in the holistic approach to health care.  Kelley uses her personal experiences and her professional knowledge to support patients as they take steps to better their own lives physically, mentally, and spiritually.


            Meredith H. Wood, MSC, NCC

            Therapist and Lead Researcher



            Meredith Howard Wood received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Maryville College, and her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Carson Newman. Meredith specializes in trauma, anxiety, and addiction. Meredith is a Nationally Certified Counselor working told becoming a Licensed Professional Counselor. Meredith employs EMDR, cognitive behavioral therapy, and system based approach for helping you make the desired changes in your life.


              Corie Fine

              Therapist


              Corie is a professionally trained social worker that believes in walking along side those personally invested in making life changes. She has several years of experience working with individuals battling addiction, embracing an empathetic and compassionate approach while delivering therapeutic intervention support. Corie is trained in and utilizes therapeutic models such as, cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, dialectic behavioral therapy, and trauma focused therapy to address client needs. Corie received a Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Tennessee, and graduated as the President of Phi Alpha Honor Society while attending the advance standing program.


                Katie Hill

                Licensed Massage Therapist


                Katie is a 2014 graduate of Arbor Institute of Massage in Knoxville TN where she received a diploma in clinical massage.  She is also a 2002 graduate of University of Tennessee where she received her B.A. in psychology.   Katie employs a range of massage modalities from relaxation to deep pressure techniques in her custom massages.  She enjoys helping those who are suffering from muscle injuries, headaches, neck and shoulder pain, prenatal muscle tension, as well as those who are experiencing increased daily stressors.  Katie’s goal is to both educate her client on the many benefits of massage and create an enjoyable custom experience that will help them along on their journey to wellness.


                  Alicia Widener

                  Officer Manager


                  Alicia graduated from the University of Tennessee in 2008 with a Bachelor’s degree in Child and Family Studies. She has worked for the last 7 years in various Social Service programs, including mental health case management with Helen Ross McNabb and substance abuse outreach with Ridgeview Behavioral Health Services. Alicia has focused her career path on finding ways to help clients break the substance abuse cycle and improve their lives.
